Battle of the American Luxury Sedans

Alright, I made this comparo to debate whether or not Chrysler, with the new 300c, has built a car to truely defeat the "Standard of the World" Caddilac's CTS. Both are relativly new Sports/Luxury Sedans built by American companies, and they are in about the same price range.

For specifics lets compare the CTS with the Luxury Package and the 300c (hemi).

http://www.chrysler.com/300/index.ht...apper&type=top

http://www.cadillac.com/cadillacjsp/....jsp?model=cts

My opinion is that the 300c is a much better luxury car then the CTS. It costs alot less, and is alot more powerful. I also think the 300c's styling is the best job that company's ever done, even if it is kinda stolen from Rolls. I've never drivin either of these cars, so I cant make judgements on handling, but goin by numbers and what I've seen, I think Chrysler walks away from this one.

PS. Dont just say "well I wouldn't get either of these cars, I'd get a G35 or a 3-series." This thread isnt what were looking to buy, this is what we think is better.

I've heard horror stories about the 300C's reliability, even without the first 5000 miles. Cadillac, on the other hand, gets very good reliability ratings. I'd take the CTS.

Well it does contain quite a few Mercedes parts so that makes sense.

Anyways, I'd still choose the Chrysler 10 times over. Better styling & power by far. All new cars have kinks to work out, the Chrysler will be a huge success. The African American community really seems to like them. I'd say 70% of the 300C's I see around here are driving by black guys in the Inglewood area.

My father just recently bought a CTS and when we went to pick up my Dodge from the dealership he seemed a little disappointed I didn't urge him to wait for the 300C. And that's really saying something considering he doesn't really give a shit about cars.

300C seems all around superior to the Cts in performance, appearance, and all around appeal. If it was the 300C vs the Cts-V that would be a very different story. But with the comparison given, I really like the 300C

Re: Battle of the American Luxury Sedans

I'd go with the 300C over a CTS in the heart beat. The CTS is nice, but if I had to have that car I'd want the CTS V, but that car almost costs $50,000. The 300C has much more power, and a classy interior (although alittle rentalish). The 300 Series is selling very well right now for a reason.

Yea, the 300c costs less, and is around 100 bhp stronger then the CTS. Please dont throw the CTS-V into this, its in a completely different class...

I wasn't, was just merely mentioning it's existence. Sorry if I confused anybody, I chose the 300C.
