Unhappy I got orange peel problems, PLEASE help!!!

Hello, im new to the car modeling thing, and this is my first model,

I just finished painting my AMT 1970 Chevelle SS 454 with Testor's "Gloss Bright Blue" and ive got an orange peel problem. I have read the FAQ, but i still need details on how to remove orange peel before the rubbing compound and wax. Due to the area i live in, the highest grit sandpaper i could obtain was 1500, and my parents wont let me order higher grits from online. Also, my stupid sister sprayed the rest of my can of bright blue into the gutter for "FUN" so i dont have anymore blue paint, and i dont wanna go out and buy a whole new can if i mess up!

Sorry for the long post

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

1500 seems good enough? Just be careful, and dont over sand.

use lots of water when sanding, and since you dont have any more paint, dont sand near any edges!

Have you cleared it yet? If you did, even better, as you won't run the risk of sanding through the colored base coat to smooth out the orange peel. Just like the guys said use plenty of water and make sure you are very careful around the edges, ie near door jams, hood jams etc as the paint tends to be a lot thinner there and sanding right throug it is very common. If you haven't cleared it yet, then I would suggest you do so, let it dry then start the task of color sanding it.

I like to add a little dishwashing soap to the water when I sand. Your gettin' good advice so far.
