Yes, I have tried it, but not with great sucess.
I used the Prismatic Ultraviolet color (blue to purple and vice versa). I followed the instructions and used Tamiya semi-gloss acrylic as a base coat (any acrylic works) My first couple of coats were very good, but then i got carried away (this being my first time using lacquer paint) and sprayed to much on. I wanted to strip the model and start again, but I dont know how to successfully strip lacquer paint off a plastic model, and I ran out of the paint. It is very expensive. I will probably try it again, as the changing color paint looked really cool. |

Have you heard of Dupli-Color Mirage paint,it's a prismatic lacquer that
comes in 11oz spray cans. It comes in a set of three cans, primer, color coat and clear coat. It's available at auto parts stores for about $20. It's quick and easy to use it can be recoated in 30 minutes and dry enough to sand in 24 hours. This '57 Cad was painted with it and it changes from green to purple. Dupli-Color "MIRAGE" Mike
