1995 3kgt SL Speedometer Problem!
Hi all. I get my car this weekend! Before i bought the car there was a slight problem with it; the speedometer didn't work. The seller told me that within my waiting time, he would get the speedometer fixed.
I just spoke with him today and he told me that the mechanic looked at it and said "It's something in your dashboard, but i dont know what it is". So in other words, he's not going to fix it. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is this an expensive fix? Car has new trans, clutch, flywheel, and timing belt He says the speedometer problem began right after he replaced his transmission. Well, i hope it's an easy and inexpensive fix. Thanks all!

Re: 1995 3kgt SL Speedometer Problem!
My first thought is the seller and mechanic suck.
My 2nd is a shot in the dark, I don't even know if 3000gts have VSS, but this sounds like a common problem that occurs with older hondas...the Vehicle Speed Sensor. It is relatively cheap to replace if I remember correctly. Try doing a search...possibly in the honda forum, as I know it was addressed in there before.

Dude, I hate it when people makes promises but after the car is sold then they don't want anything to do with it. They'd answer all your questions and assure you that they'll help you out in any way they can but after you give 'em the money it's "see ya later sucker!" JERKS!

Maybe they just didnt plug in the speedo sensor on the trans. It might be that easy.
