Power output on rebuilt '90 LX
I'm testing the compression on a freshly rebuilt '90 1.9 LX engine....with the CFI. I put on a GT header from the same generation, and bypassed the catalytic converter. Also, I am thinking of putting in a small hood scoop to make a true c.a.i. Does anybody have any idea what this would do to the power output of the car? I know it would increase, but does anyone have a clue of how much. The engine also has roller lifters ( a plus), and has a rebuilt head, which would raise the compression. On testing it the engine had 185 psi on all cylinders......so I'd say about a 12.6 to 1 compression ratio, whereas stock is 9 to 1. Any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Power output on rebuilt '90 LX
I'm not very familiar with the 1.9L, except that it is a dog, but your compression is identical to mine (2.0L SPI). I range from 184-186. I'd think with the hood scoop and bypassing the Cat, you might get a few more horses, nothing big. As far as roller lifters, I have no clue. No experience with them.
