question about my 1978 camaro

hello, i was wondering what would make my car quicker/faster..... if i keep the holly carburator on which has no kick down cable hooked of or i fi got a different carburator and hooked up my kickdown cable.... and what kind of carburator would i need?? because i can't keep the carb. thats on it.. right? any help would be great
the engine is a 350 with edelbrock heads anda holly carb. (rebuilt engine)

or is it possible to hook the kick down cable up to my holly carb.. any help would be great
