Advancing the timing
I was wondering if anyone has advanced the timing on their 4th gen max? Does it prove for more power? My friend with a toyota solara advanced his timing and now has the extra bit to beat my max. Also whats the status of JWT or someone coming out with an ecu for the '99?

pretty much no way of advancing the timing of the 4th gen. It doesn't use a distributor, so that way is out of the question. The PCM controls the timing, so the only way to advance it is to modify the computer which is pretty much impossible unless you know how to mess with the PCM.
