Dual Exhaust Question
Are Mandrel Bent Pipes Better Than Normal Bent Pipes? Is Their A Performance Difference On A 2001 V6? Im Getting The Duals With The Flowmaster 40's On Tomorrow And Am Kinda Stuck On Which To Go With. I Will Let Everyone Know How It Sounds Tomorrow Afternoon.

Re: Dual Exhaust Question
The mandrel bent pipes will not help your V6 much...if any at all. You will be able to tell zero difference between mandrel and a straight pipe bent with a pipe bender. I would suggest 3 1/2" tips. 3" may be sufficient. The tips just give it a deeper tone.

All "mandrel bent" means is that there will be no wrinkles inside the pipe, which would allow the gasses to escape more quickly. In my opinion it's not worth $60, especially on a V6. If you had a really sick setup that was pumping out 500+ horsepower, then you would get a few extra horsepower, but otherwise it shouldn't represent much of a power gain.

Re: Dual Exhaust Question
I went down to the exhaust shop today and ordered everything. I ordered 2.25" piping mandrel bent with flowmaster 40 series mufflers. And then i chose some chrome tips 18" long and 3" wide. I am getting it installed on Thursday and hopefully i can post a video or sound clip of it then. Thanks for all the help.
