Ok I plugged a portable tv into my auxillary power outlet or cigarette lighter......i'll just call it cig lighter......and now it wont work i've looked for a fuse couldn't find it so im thinking its a short and imma have to take the panel out and everything to get to it but if someone can enlighten me of where the fuse would be i'd appreciate it assuming thier is one.........by the way its a 1992 ford escort

May sound stupid and you didnt mention it but did you have the key turned to aux? I have a plug in vaccum for my car and I have to have the key turned in order for my ciig plug/aux plugs to work.

yeaH
yeah i had the key on mine works like that to its wired threw the ignition....what im really trying to find out is if thiers a fuse hooked to the aux

my fuse blew on my cig. lighter too. i dont know much about the 92 escort, but my 94 tracer has the fuse box under the steering wheel. but the cig lighter has its own little box all by itself right above the fuse box...

I'll Be Damned lol
i found a little black box the whole time just glancing thinking it was a connector opened it up 20 watt fuse ....blown all to hell thanks man got it fixed so simple i feel stupid now

always start simple but keep in mind there had to have been a reason it blew keep an eye out for anything funny or any smells odds are the person before you tried to use something they shouldnt have had. Glad to hear its fixed.

glad to hear its fixed!!! i did the same thing. when i got my tracer the cig lighter never worked. until one day i was looking at the fuses and finally noticed the little black box label "cigar".
