Question about doing a I30 LSD tranny swap

Well last week I blew my motor on a short road trip, my friend was driving. He was doing over 110 mph for over 15-20 mins when all of a sudden I hear this clunk and a big puff of smoke blew out beneath the car. My initial reactions were that he blew my motor (no rpm and the car just went dead). Well the next morning when we went to tow the car, I found a 2 in hole underneath my motor and it looks like he threw a rod or some type of internals.
Well now I am planning on replacing my motor so I figure I just do a direct swap with another VQ30 motor, I also want to replace my 5 spd tranny too because the diff. bearings are waiting to go on me too (whinning and rubbing sound while in gear) so I figure while I have the motor out I may as well fix the tranny too.
Now what my questions is do I need to swap out both cv axles when doing a I30 HLSD tranny swap or just the driver side? Also the HLSD comes in all years of the 5spd I30t 4gen models right or only one specific year?
The other org.'s been down for over a week now and I barely found this forum so I figure I post and see what feedback I can get. Thanx and sorry for the long post.
