I just got my new b18b engine for my 1995 civic dx and realized that i didn't get an ecu with it...does that really matter? do i need it for this swap?

Yes and yes. To the best of my knowledge you will need the motor mounts for that engine and you will for sure have to get the right ecu.

exactly. You have to have to ecu for the corresponding motor. If you use you dx ecu, your cars gonna run just about as good as the DX did. Certain ECU's have fuel cutoffs and rev limiters that you dont want or cant use on another motor. Just try to find a ECU from a LS from a junkyard or what not and everything will work fine.

Re: ECU question

ecu is important for running purposes. like said above, the d15 ecu will run it but very poorly. the right ecu has the right fuel maps, ignition maps for the larger 1.8l. motor. what you can do is get hold of a d16z6 ecu, p28 and get it chipped to run that motor. and you said its a b18b but your motor came form a 92 teg? that means its a b18a, maybe you spelt wrong?
