can u really feel vtec kick in with a sohc ?

waddup i drive a si hatch back its fast as fu** and all but honestly can u really feel the vtec pull after that certain rpm? imean i admit it goes balistic after 6 to 7 but when i ride in my friends 1999 si i for shure feel his sh** kick ..... and to that guy with the d16z6 valve cover question.. i dont get it mine says vtec on it... can somone give me an answer thanx

you don't really feel Vtec engagement on a sohc,with an open air filter you hear it pretty good,but not as much as on a dohc.

It depends on how hard I'm accelerating. If I'm accelerating pretty hard then sometimes I feel it. I always definitely hear it though.

same here.....u can FEEL it in my friend's TEG...with my AEM CAI equipped SOHC you can "kinda" hear it i guess. Just enough to know it's there.

I can't feel mine,but i used to have a 95 gsr, so when i got my 95 ex a couple weeks ago i was like"is ithe vtec working or what". Although i do have to say i am mildy suprized, the car has fairly good mid range power and acceleration, i thought it would be a total dog with the cars weight and the sohc motor, but its not to bad, i can hang with my friends ls pretty good.
