Re: car doesn't want to start

I'm assuming that it's turning over but not firing up, right? If you've got fuel pressure and a good coil then either your timing is way off, or for some reason the spark isn't getting to the plugs (bad rotor?). You can use one of several methods to find out if you have spark:
1) Use a tuming light and turn the motor over. It should flash if you have spark
2) Pull out one of the spark plugs and re-attach the wire. Hold the plug by the rubber boot and press it against the cylinder head, then have a friend turn the car over. If you see a spark jump across the electrode then everything is working fine and the problem is in the timing or the plug wires routed incorrectly.

If you don't have any spark but your coil is good then it's an electrical problem. Check your distrubtor cap and rotor, also look around the engine to make sure that all of the electrical connectors are making contact. Check the battery voltage and make sure the terminals are clean (sometimes low battery voltage will give your car enough power to turn over but not enough to start it up). Check the fuses.

Hope this helps!
