Coating on steering wheel buttons
Has anyone else had trouble with the coating on the steering wheel buttons either coming off (in small chips) or bubbling up? This has always been a problem on my '95 Riv. All of the steering wheel buttons (as one assembly) were replaced by the dealer a few years ago for a stereo problem, but even the new replacements eventually did the same thing. On mine it was primarily the volume button because that is the one that I use the most. It is most annoying at night when you see the backlight coming through places it should not be coming through.

My steering buttons too
Yes, my buttons are doing the same. I also have a problem with the 'Temp' button. The light has failed. Has anyone any idea how to get the button cap off in order to change the bulb. I don't want to break anything by prying on it.

Re: My steering buttons too
Not sure how to do that, but you may want to take a two-pronged approach and check this board out as well:

Same problem here, 145,000 miles. For the past 3 years, it requires a 10 minute touch-up to the controls as well as the wheel about every 4 months. I use a factory matched vinyl paint, and a match (soft end). Looks great and really undetectable. Most paint shops can handle this for you. Good luck!
