Slightly OT: Mercedes/McLaren SLR

Does anyone know if the new SLR has started shipping to the US?

I live in the Denver area and passed one (definitely an SLR) today on I-70 headed west into the mountains. Strange thing was that although the body was silver, the driver's side door was black. It looked like it was unpainted carbon fiber, but I couldn't tell for sure in the brief moment I saw it as it passed.

There was a nice new SL following it so it might have been a test mule for more high altitude testing, but since they're in production that seems rather strange. I've encountered a couple other pre-production vehicles doing high altitude testing here, including a group of Porsche Cayennes about 9 months before production.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tom

It has, and ues it is a test mule.
Its not strange to keep on testing well into production, improvment of parts etc
