contest teaser pics

Here is what I plan to enter in the LeMans contest. The Porsche 917k # 20. These are just some teaser pics. The build is really on hold because I am waiting for the upcoming release of a transkit that will include full engine detail from Historic Racing Miniatures.

The body in primer

The tires and wheels.

Re: contest teaser pics

Looking forward to following what undoubtedly will be a great build. Do you have any info when the HRM engine transkit is expected to be released?

What do you think about the lip on the nose panel between the front lights? Fujimi made it too wide according to my references.

Re: contest teaser pics

This is going to be a meeting of some great builders, and will be the most heated competition I've seen. I can't wait to see your entry. Gorgeous models await!

No fair!!!

...He's already started painting the wheels/tires and didn't include it in his dairy build...I call for him to be disqualified(*) ;-)>

This does bring up something I'll bet we will all see...the proliferation of Fujimi 917 kits.

Maybe we should get Fujimi as a sponsor since we'll probably see about a month's worth of 917 production here being built..LOL

Bill

p.s. No I'm NOT that anal and yes I know he's going to be a judge and therefore can't win...unless we change the rules...;-)>

Paint!! Heres the paint, I have not polished it or clearcoated it yet. The blue is a mix of Tamiya Pure White and French Blue. Its not as dark as it looks in the pics. My camera does not like to record lite blue well. The orange is Tamiya Bright Orange. I will try some outside pics tomorrow.

Re: Le Mans Contest Entry: 1970 Porsche 917K

Nice paint job. To me the blue almost looks flat?
