'86 stalls and dies, getting frequent.

Posting on behalf of my girlfriend here. We've got an '86 Mustang that was put through hell by its previous owners. Lately, she's been driving down the road and she will make a turn or come to a stop and the Mustang will die out on her. It's getting more frequent and we are worried because she has to turn across three lanes of traffic that doesn't stop for anyone on a daily basis. I have an idea what it could be but I don't really have enough expertise to figure it out for certain. Any help is aprreciated.

Re: '86 stalls and dies, getting frequent.

Do you have any cutoff switches for the car? Same problem was happening to me in my 86 stang and it was the cut off switch.....i disconnected and re ran the wires the way they should be and i havent had a problem since........when my fuel fliter got clogged that happened to me, i changed the filter and changed the fuel line along with the fuel pump...if the fuel pump is mounted on the outside of the tank like mine is it only cost me $60 for the pump $5 for the filter and $10 for the fuel line...did it myself, if the pump is on the inside then your looking at a good $300....well thats what it costs around ny =)
