help! need programming instructions for 98 4Runner Keyless Entry Remote

Ok. You've all seen this plea before. I have a 98 4Runner SR5. Original keyless remote entry will not stay on key chain due to break. Bought an identical one on ebay (where else!). I need programming instructions. I've seen the variety of instructions that are out there...but none have worked so far. I have the gray remote with two buttons only. I have looked under the seat but there is no ECU. I know there is an alarm system because we've set it off accidentally. However, I'm not sure if it's the S1000 VIP or the RS 3000. My guess it's the VIP one since there is a VIP sticker on the driver's side window.

Programming instructions appreciated.

Those instructions don't work for the RS3000. Tried them several times with no luck...
