Converting V6 - V8 85 Camaro

conversion of my V6

I have rebuilt my v6 in my 85 Camaro and my transmission. Though, down the road, I would like to modify my baby and throw a v8 in. Any suggenstions on which engine would fit, and if i need any modifications (like engine mounts, spacing, etc) to my engine compartment.

Re: Converting V6 - V8 85 Camaro

Your best bet for an engine swap, would be to get a donor car with a v8 and that way you could take your time transfering all the things you would need over. The suspension will be different and so will your cooling system.

If you want to spend big bucks and go with a crate engine you can do that too.

Basically anything will fit it just depends on what you want to spend and I am unsure if a big block would be a simple bolt in but I am positive they fit.

I guess it depends on what route you want to go then. I personally like the TPI engines from the late 80s thirdgens. If youve got the cash though the LS1/6 spd combo would be a great route.
