Unhappy Power Steering Pump

I need to replace the Power Steering Pump on my '93 Grand Am but don't know the proceedure. I have one bolt out and the fluid line removed, but it won't move. WHich other bolts need to come out? The car has 260,000 miles and is still great.

Re: Power Steering Pump

The procedure depends on which engine you have, the Quad 4 or the V6. Either one there are three bolts that hold the pump to it's mount.

Re: Power Steering Pump

The engine is the Quad 4. I have the bolt on the outside of the bracket, below the return line off. Where are the other two bolts, please ?

Re: Power Steering Pump

on the Quad 4 the pump is attached to an adjustable mounting bracket. The bracket/pump combination has to be removed as one from the car. You have to remove two bolts to remove the bracket, one is to the rear of the engine and is bolted to the transaxle the other is towards the front by the pump itself and is bolted to the engine. After you remove these two bolts then you can remove the whole bracket/pump combo which then you will see the three bolts holding the pump to the bracket (they're on the pulley side behind the pulley).
