Question Short Shifter Help!

I got this supped up car (a 94 z) about a month ago. Bought it from some guys dad. The dad didn't know much about what the kid had done to it. Well i got it and it ends up he put down some money on some upgrades. My question is: do all 6 speed shift levers have a noche in them (like in the middle of the lever) or is this a sign that its been changed out for a short throw shifter? Are they like a straight bar or not? It doesn't feel short-throw, but i haven't driven any otheres to compare it to so I really don't know. It does, though, have that noche i mentioned and i was wondering what that meant. Thanks...

Re: Short Shifter

Pull the console up, if it's a mod then you'll see a logo, B&M, hurst, or PRO5.0 or something.

Like where exactly? I didn't see any and was wondering arn't there some types that are just the shifter bar and like adjusting pieces and not the whole assembly?

Re: Short Shifter

All shifters on the Camaro's have the noche in the middle of the bar... When you replace the stock shifter with a short throw the base is the only thing that gets changed, unless you buy a different stick. The base of the shifter assm. should have some sort of marking on it.

I thought that ud had to replace the assembly till i got on ebay and saw this:

Are these the same? Ebay is littered with them and whats the difference between these and the others? The "lever" on this is exactly like the one in mine. Sorry to keep asking but theres seems to be more to these than i thought...

Re: Short Shifter

When you buy a new shifter from like B&M or hurst it comes with the stick and the base.
