Alarm while starting engine

When I start my 528i, I get an alarm while I start the engine and it last for a couple of seconds then stops. There are no lights on the dash lit and problems that I am aware of. Does anyone have any idea what the alarm is about and how to correct. Any info appreciated. Thanks Doug

Re: Alarm while starting engine

your alam may be too sensitive. You could try regulating it. There is a control box for it.

Re: Alarm while starting engine

Sounds like a 'check control' alert [look at the display and see what monitored system is faulting].
The problem is there are two Cluster Levels, 'High' that has a alpha/numeric matrix in the instrument cluster and a 'Low' cluster that has a 'pictogram' of hte car in the lower left side of the cluster. See if you notice a 'lamp' or such display when you here the warning gong. It could be just a light bulb out.
