Re: How much boost???

it depends on your tuning. Im assuming since you're asking such a question, you dont know much about turbo hondas, so i will say 5-10psi.

It all depends on your fuel and spark management. with an FMU setup, 5-7psi. AFC hack is good for about 7-10psi. with a very good dyno tune on a modified ECU, i've seen people run up to 15psi on a stock block d16.

Re: How much boost???

I think 10 is pushin it on stock internals. You might be able to boost that but dont expect the motor to last you long. It'll wear out quick. 5-7 psi is what usually ppl boost to .

Re: How much boost???

5psi on all stock, if you put head studs and crank studs on 8psi max more motor mods like different pistons, bearings, and rings you can safely go up to 13-15psi and peaks of 16+ but not for too long. And of course make sure the hooker is rich and retarted. That sounds funny LOL

Re: How much boost???

On a d16a (SOHC Vtec) and for the other d16's you can easily run 10 - 11psi everyday with fmic, upgraded injectors and a good tune.

Weakest part in them are the rods, which are good for ~220hp

Re: How much boost???

you try running 10-11psi on your Si block daily and will see you asking around for a si block in about 2 months. NOT ON YOUR LIFE would I run 10-11psi on a stock block especially if it was my everyday car.

I know a little about boosting stock motor I have done LOTS of reseach on bossting, Not to say it has not been done, but the thing is you will run into problems. Another thing is these motors have over 100,000 miles and the ablity to hold boost is greatly comprimized but the rings being worn well you get my point dont do it.
