Angry Solenoid, starter or ignition

92 Cherokee Completely would't start last night but yet everything else worked, no noise from the starter at all....today i put a jumper wire from the + on the solenoid to the trigger wire(the small one) and it turned over got in the truck and fired right up...30 min later same thing again allready replaced the relay and just now cleaned up the corossion on everything should i chance it or replace something else

HI, IF YOU HAVE CLEANED THE TERMINALS ON BATTERY PLUS THE CABLE ENDS AND YOU STILL HAVE NOTHING BY ANY CHANCE DO YOU HAVE THE BOLT ON TERMINALS ON YOUR BATTERY CABLES. POSSIBLE THAT CABLES ARE CORRODED INSIDE CAUSING LOW VOLTAGE DALE

hey Dale yeah I have the Aftermarket Bolt through terminals and it was pretty bad i took them apart and cleaned the wires real good..now it has started everytime i have tried for the last 5 hours or so...so i am thinking that was it but just wanted to check...why would jumping the wires have made a difference in it cranking over cause after i did that it started right up...Thanks for all your help....

HI, I WOULD CONSIDER CHANGING THE CABLES FOR NEW ONES THEY'RE PROBABLY CORROIDED INSIDE. THE WIRE YOU USED JUST CREATED A SHORTER PATH OF RESISTANCE. SHOWING THERE IS CORROISION IN CABLES DALE [email protected]

thanks for all your help I just cleaned the cables real well and cut new ends and it seems to be fine haven't had any problems lately...Thanks
