RSX vs RSX-S

For a while I have been considering the rsx-s, but now I am not so sure. I want the sype s because it is faster, but I am not so good at driving manuals. I was thinking take the type-s engine and dropping it into the 5-speed manual rsx. Then tricking it out. Any thoughts?

Re: RSX vs RSX-S

That post make's no sense.

You want to take a type s engine put it in a manual base type rsx? but you cant drive a manual that well?

Why not get a manual rsx type s and then just learn as you go?

That idea is about as dumb as a box of hair.

Just get the RSX-S. It'll be cheaper in the long run.

Re: RSX vs RSX-S

Agreed, and if all you have is a stick, you'll learn real fast. Plus, once you can drive a stick, you can drive anything, auto or stick. You can drive your friends car when they're passed out in back .

Just get the type-s.

Re: RSX vs RSX-S

HighRev don't be such an ass. This has to do with racing, therefore it is in the racing forum. And civic, you are right it did make no sense after i read over it. I meant dropping it into the 5-speed automotic, my bad, I was in a hurry.

Ok... here's what you do.

I assume you've got friends... Find one that has a manual car, ask to borrow it for a weekend. And just drive, you may suck donkey nuts now. But by weekends end, you'll be shifting like a pro.*

Then go buy your RSX-S, and enjoy it.

* = No you will not be a pro, so stfu already.

a base model RSX is shit anyways. it has the same engine as a Si. which means it's v-tec doesn't even include higher lift cams. off v-tec the engine only opens 1 intake valve. so when v-tec hits it opens both intake valves. which means that during v-tec is when the engine is acting like a normal engine. its just some gas saving shit. totally worthless and garbage in a performance point of view.

Just buy the RSX type S and learn to drive the manual. It'll drive you insane to start with i guarantee, but once you learn your car you'll be so happy with it all you won't know what you did without it.

manual wont be that difficult to learn...sure it will be a little challenging but in the end you'll learn how to drive it and you'll love it! It will take about 2 days to learn how to drive it then progressivly (cant spell..lol) you'll get better and better. First just learn how to drive normally then learn how to race. But hey, like everyone else said go with the rsx-s.

Get a VR4! lol j/k I jsut got my first car and it's a manual, I took it around the block a few dozen times and I was set (to drive normally that is), I still stalled on hills and stuff for about a week but only like once every two days. Get the manual! I'm glad I did!

alright...its pointless and expensive to drop the s engine into a base rsx...so yes like everyone said learn stick...but dont just take out a buddys car...LEARN HOW A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WORKS...its makes it easier to understand why youre doing what youre doing...just drive around on side streets...thats how i learned...then i took the car i was learning on to an old quarry...theres a huge paved hill there...and i just started on the hill went up...stopped...went up some more...stopped and rolled down...i did that over and over again until i was comfortable...that what it takes...doing it and knowing you need practice...for sure take the time to learn stick if you want the s engine...dont take the money and time to put it in a base rsx
