Question Sunny looks like G20...

I'm all cornfused...I was looking on the Nissan Japan site and clicked on the one that to me looked Primera-ish (P10) and it was a SUNNY .
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Sunnys were Sentras...and on the Chilean Nissan Cidef site they show a Nissan V16...91-94 Sentra if I ever saw one.

What's weird is at the Hong Kong site the Sunny looks nothing like a Sentra or G20.

The Panamanian site has a Sentra II...B13 and also has the B15. As does the Peruvian site which says the car (named SentraV16) is new for 2000. HOW DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP THEIR CARS STRAIGHT?

The Portugal site has a 240sx? listed as 200 sx...

The Sunny on the Saudi Arabian looks as though it's related to the new Sentra, at least.

Here, tell me this isn't a P10 Primera... It even comes with either gray or brown interior. Well, OK, it does look a little bit long.

Oh..check out the parking systems they have at Nissan Greece . Cool, huh?

Some Pulsars in NZ can be mistaken for a P10 at a quick glance. They are not quite as compact as a P10 but biggest giveaway is the direct front or rear view. The track width looks too narrow on them. And the direct side view, the front and rear seem to overhang the wheelbase more.

It is known in many countries as the 200SX. I believe the reason is the SR20 as opposed to the US model which came w/ the KA24.. hence 240sx as opposed to 200sx.

A couple things... the Tsuru is the same as the B13 Sentra here in teh states. I think they are still producing them in Mexico too (not sure of that though). The Sunny is different than any car here in the States, however it does share the suspension with the new B15 Sentra SE-R Spec V, and that's pretty close to the B14 suspension. The wheelbase i'm not sure of, but i'd guess it's close to a P10, but it definitly is different. The Lucino is like the B14 here in the States.
The P10 is only the Primera or G20 no matter where you go (to my knowledge), and I also don't know of any other car with a similar suspension to ours.

As for the GTi-R hood, I don't think it is wide enough... I've heard that it is like a inch (about) too short on each side. Maybe there would be a way to add material onto the sides of the hood?

NO!. It will not fit unless you can stretch the hood considerably.
It should be bolt-on or very close to a B13 though.

Guys,
since this comes more often than not lets make a summary.

It does not matter what name Nissan uses in different countries for any specific model. The basis for identifying cars is the chassis number.

For example, in the same period that the B13 chassis platform was marketed as Sentra in the States, the N14 chassis was marketed as:
Sunny in Europe
Pulssar in NZ-AU
In the last year they even merketed as Almera in Portugal I think.
Note that they were the exact same N14 cars and even looked identical.

The next model, N15 (close cousin to B14 although there is no consensous yet as to their exact differences) was marketed as Sunny, Pulssar, Almera as well depending on what was "catchy" for each specific country/market.

Now, since the market-name "Sunny" has always been used for the N10/N11/N12/N13/N14/N15/Nxx platform there are minimal chances that any major bodywork part will fit onto a Primera/G20 that is based on the P10/P11/Pxx platform.

IMHO there is a great chance that most of the Nxx body parts will fit on a Bxx part with one number less, i.e. N14-->B13, N15-->B14, etc.

U r right Justin, they still produce it.

Check my previous post in this thread as well as an earlier thread on as similar subject (look for post by hpro123, there are not many).
Sunnys throughout the years spanned the entire Nxx platform. In fact, my family's first car ever (and ofcourse as a hand-down my first car ever) was ....

a DATSUN SUNNY 1000 in 1969!!!!

Again, IMHO you can consider (with minor differences) that a B13 (be it Tsuru or Sentra) shares most parts with a N14 (be it Sunny or Pulsar or Almera), a B14 with a N15, a B15 with a N16.

Maybe it is, maybe not but it will only be a random-draw. What it is is exactly the same as the N15.

Quote:

Yes, if we are talking about the N15 Lucino. Note that there were Lucinos even back in the B13.

Quote:

Correct. Primera was a cool, non-offending and catchy name throughout the world so it was used universally. Now, why it was not used in the States is beyond my intellect.

You are correct. In fact I am willing to bet that the dimensions of the GTiR hood are identical to those of the B13 hood.!

What about the fenders? The Sunny's fenders look like they'd fit. Why go through all that trouble just to flip the corner light around? I don't know.....just because.
