Tornado Air Fuel Saver

I was wondering what everyone thought of these that had bought them?
Are they worth the $70 or am i better off flushing the money down the toilet.

im not sure how they work on the s10, but i know someone who had a civic and it helped the gas alot and he also said there was a little power increase...

My sister has one on her '04 Monte Carlo they didn't notice any power gain but they did notice a little gas milage increase (like 1-2 mpg). Myself, I wouldn't bother.

My friends a mechanic and he says those thing are the biggest pieces of shit and complete waste of money. He's seen a dyno with one and it didn't do anything.

sounds like everyone else sais they are s***, my self i never used one buy my friend but the kid who had the civic like it i guess, i dont know

you have to remember that if things like that really work the big three auto makers would put them on at the factory..It would help them sell more cars with the gas prices being so high and all....

theres alot of civic owners that think they gain horsepower with little stuff. Im suprised they dont think stickers make a power increase.

it might be better for some other engines. like the civic it is small and made diffrent than the chevys . a completly diffrent setup

ok, as for the "description" of how the tornado thingy works is that it churns up the incoming air, in theory to better mix the air & fuel.

For a Fuel Injection engines, the air goes through the filter, tornado, intake, then making it's way to each cylinder where it's then introduced to fuel and boom. But by the time the air reaches the cylinder, any churning motion has long stopped, thus making the Tornado completely worthless.

Now, for Carb. engines, the air goes through the filter, tornado then into the Carb, where it is mixed with fuel, then delivered to each cylinder. Since the distance the air travels to mix with fuel is FAR shorter, the air is still churning, and the Tornado is being effective. And would allow for better air/fuel mixture.

Lets Review...
Fuel Injection - Tornado = Waste of money.
Carb - Tornado = Should be effective.

And as with every car, how you drive it will affect your gas mileage. If you drive it hard, don't expect to have your gas mileage to go from 17 to 25. If you drive it like a Grandmother, your mileage might go from 17 to 20.
