Looking To Buy A 2000 Ram

HEY ALL , im looking to buy a used dodge ram. it is a 2000 with 73K miles for only 11,000$ ,,, it has extended cab, 4x4 automatic, all of the options. i am a bit leary because of the high mileage, and because i have heard alot of stories about transmission problems with these trucks.. im wondering what advice anyone has about buying a dodge,, is the horror stories about transmissions really true?? or is it just a few flukes.....
