Re: basic/cheap brake upgrades
I found that going to slotted rotors (avoid drilled) made a massive improvement in my brake fade issues coming down from high speed. In fact it eliminated it altogether. Based on my experience I find that slotted rotors with "performance" pads from the local autoparts store (like autozone, in my case) does very well. SS lines should make it even better. Real pads should be an even bigger improvement.
I would add slotted rotors to yuor list, but you can also wait until you wear out or warp the ones you have. Try to get them turned if you reused them to avoid douching the new pads, unless they appear to be quite flat and you dont have excessive runout (pulsating/vibrating in your pedal)

gsxracer what do you think about RRE's brake lines. Also who makes the best buy for the buck rotors?

Re: basic/cheap brake upgrades
I havent used any aftermarket lines (yet), but I would certainly trust whatever brand RRE sells.
I'm not sure whats the best bang for the buck rotor, but my Powerslots from bushur were 180. I dont think there are too many other options for slotted only, everyone wants to drill them too since thats what the ricers and show cars want. I've seen too many crack locally to trust them.

Re: basic/cheap brake upgrades
they were 180 for all four? thats not bad. RRE makes thier own brake lines and im not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing. they are cheap which is good but as far as quality i dont know. there are big compainies like Russel or whatever out there so i dont know what would be my best bet.

Re: basic/cheap brake upgrades
180 for the 2 fronts. That was 4 eyars ago and from bushur. I think I saw them on SBRs site for 130 for the front pair. Powerslot was the brand.
Drilled rotors crack. A local guy had some nice cracks going on his. Granted, he is harder on brakes than drag racers, but its just not worth the risk. I dont mess around with brakes.
