Last April I bought a 1998 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder 2WD with 100K miles (my first Nissan). I do like it, but needless to say, those engineers didn't have a great day when designing ready access to service components (I was a prfessional VW mechanic 30 years ago, and do 99% of my own work, so I'm not exactly a novice). Replacing the starter took several hours (difficult to get to top bolt). Changing the oil filter requires taking off the front right wheel and a splash guard. But you're interested in the radiator drain; I can help with the 1998 4 cylinder 2WD, if may differ for others. The radiator drain is smack in the middle of the bottom edge of the radiator; unfortunately, it's covered by a somewhat-flexible pastic shield. The correct way is to move the shield first, but what I did was drill a 1/2 hole through the shield. Then I could stick a regualr-blade screwdriver through the drilled hole, and use my left hand to guide it into the slot on the radiator drain plug.
