Engine

My engine is no longer with the living!!
I am going to put a crate one in but I was wondering if I could put a bigger one in without tooooooooo much modifications? I have a 96 Grand Am Se with a 3.1. Could I put a 3.8 in or higher???? Just wondering?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can put in a 3.8 with some modification anything bigger (V8 size) will take much more modification.
