Cheap Cold Air Intake

I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to make my own cold air intake. I have been looking online for kits for a while, but all I can find is the K&N kit that costs like $200 and I really don't want to spend that kind of money on it. Thanks.

is it a z28? you can go to www.ebaymotors.com and type camaro air intake and there are K&N for like $105 and every other one is cheaper than that!

No, unfortunately it is only a V6, 1994 3.4L

Are those just the filter or the whole kit?

Yeah, I found one for the V6 too, but they look so damn simple, I think I could probablr make one myself, I was hoping someone had done it before and could give me some pointers

Re: Cheap Cold Air Intake

Making your own is usually a pretty easy thing. Just make sure you hook all the electrical stuff back up properly and make sure the filter cant pick up water.

Re: Cheap Cold Air Intake

well you need some tubing, maybe one that bends, some clamps, and a filter. then you have to connect them together and fit it to the intake. viola.

Re: Cheap Cold Air Intake

Fairly simple to do. In fact for a while I was running (on my TPI setup) a new piece of perfectly bent Semi exhaust. It was freaking huge, and sounded great. As for power increase, heh, not really anything to speak of.

Or you could do like my borther did and make one out or an old swing set...then if you got enough left over you can prolly make a good exhaust setup
