caravan start
97 Caravan has intermittent start. Turn ignition switch and only get a "click" and sounds of a weak battery. Strong headlights and regular indications though of all electrical components. Replaced battery as a good place to begin. Cycling of ignition switch seems to eventually get a good strong rotation and subsequent start...
Have read many threads of ignition switch failing or starter solonoid contacts failing or even posible loose wiring/short around the starter...has anyone narrowed this down further??? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree. Had the same problem with my 97. Had starter changed and good as new.

Re: caravan start
The mechanic that replaced the battery says he checked it and it was "ok". In other words he was not able to duplicate the problem. I am about to change the plunger and contacts for a $20 shot in the dark...will that be enough or should I replace the whole starter for $120+??? Thanks for the reply.
