Questions about the Eclipse GSX that I have...

I'm extremely interested in importing an Eclipse GSX (2nd Gen model) into New Zealand in a few years, but I want to know a few things first.

1. How easily do these convert to Right Hand Drive?
2. Do they carry a FMVSS plate (One that says it meets US frontal impact standards)
3. Are there many mechanical differences between this car and a Lancer Evolution IV or even V?

Actually these are the only things I want to know, as I need the FMVSS plate to be able to import the car and to drive it, I might have to convert it to RHD (Not sure though).

I'd much rather a GSX than an Evo, simply because every man and thier dog has an Evo over here, so I'm pretty sure that most people that can fix an Evo could fix a GSX.

Also, what do the 2nd Gen Eclipses (Pref. Later models of the 2nd Gen) retail for over there? I'm pretty sure I could afford one + Shipping + Some cosmetic parts I'll buy while I'm in the US.

not worth converting it to RHD... pain in the ass if you ask me! as for the plate i have no clue! and the price of the car can range anywhere from $5000 - $15000 usd! just for the cost of the car... shipping is goin to be expensive! not positive on a price cause i have never shipped a car overseas!

Cheers for the help, I'm pretty sure the later ones would carry the plate, but I do need to double check somehow. But I'm looking at a reasonably stock model, About US$10,000 for a decent one you reckon? If so that's a bloody good price, similar what an older Evo fetches. I already have an idea of the shipping costs, but I still need to see if it has that damn plate.... lol

All in all I don't think the price will be that steep, so it's a pretty good idea I reckon, especially since I'll be the only one in the country with one
