Re: Some rx-3 progress pictures

The car came with a BRAND NEW 75-78 13b from a rx-4, cosmo, or repu, but I sold it to a friend.

I'm putting a N/A TII engine in it.

Re: Some rx-3 progress pictures

why an n/a T2 engine ?
74-78 13b port configuration is the best to use in n/a form, no ? i'll use my s5 n/a rotors in mine, along with some porting. then i'll try to find a carb upgrade or i might go turbo with a sterling or something like that

Re: Some rx-3 progress pictures

My S5 turbo engine has 9.0:1 comp ratio vs your 9.2:1.. your rotors weight 11.58 pounds each... mine are 9.54..

port config is nice on the 74-78 4p 13b but to many peoples dismay.. it will actually produce more power and a smoother. faster reving powerband. than the older engines. One secret is the flame front of the S5 rotors over the older style.

Is your engine apart right now?? If so, I really really want a set of the 74-78 13Brotor housings.. I am building a differen't engine for this car this winter. I think having the original era rotor housings would give it abit more class. I know of a complete running/rusty RX-4 i can buy. I'd hate to buy it just to take the rotor housings.

I have tons of engine stuff in my core bank incase you wanted to trade for something or just incase you need something.... eg S5 N/A rotors, or complete rotating assembly w/ S5 rear c-weight. Pile of 12A's, and TII cores.

Re: Some rx-3 progress pictures

my engine is still in one piece and is currently hanging in my FB's enginebay. the oil pan dont fit.
i have my old s5 n/a engine appart and i will use my 9.7 compression ratio rotors along with the rotating assembly i'Ve kept when i'll rebuilt the 4 port.

i've always been told that if i wanted to use a T2 engine N/A i'd have to go bridgeport to compensate from the lack of boost. and that the engine would never run like an n/a 4 port anyway. its only what i've heard though.

BTW, i beleive my 13b 3b (its what the engine is called) rotorhousings would not fit 86 ++ side housings waterjacket, you'd have to use 12a or s3 13b irons to match them.

i've got pictures of the port size difference between my engine and those on a 6 port, i can post em if u want to see.

Re: Some rx-3 progress pictures

yeah i know all the interchanges. i have several 12A cores.

for example.. when you reassemble.. i would use your 4p e-shaft.. and the stat gears from the S5
