wheel fitment ?'s
Ok im planning on getting 17x7's with a 42mm offset. according to http://www.az240sx.org/faq.html, for coilover clearance they need to be 40mm or less. A common way around this problem is spacers, the smallest being 5mm. With these spacers, longer lugs are pretty much required for the lugnuts to fit properly on the lugs. Now my question is that if i were to get the 5mm spacers for the front and machine them down closer to the 2mm that is actually required, would new lugs be necessary still? I would think that with just 2mm of thread taken up it would still be safe, but it would be very very bad if i turned out to be wrong on this. Any advice from anyone?

Get the wheels, mount them on your car with the milled spacers and check if you have enough stud, if not, get longer ones.
