hey not happi wit brakes

hi, i jus bought a new highlander and i like it's smooth ride and everything else.

i have two things i'm not happi with.

the first and foremost being that i feel the brakes are very numb and sometimes hav trouble stopping. is dere anything i can do to make brakes better???

also, the fuel economy is listed at 18/24.

my parents Honda Odyssey is also listed at 18/24.

The Highlander seems to drain gas much faster than my parents Odyssey does. and i've driven the odyssey for a while, so i know how much gas it guzzles.

does anybody else think that the fuel economy is lower than 18/24???

it's kinda frustrating in addition to the brakes.

thanks.

Mileage

I've had my Highlander since June 1st. I previously had a Trailblazer, and I also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Of the 3 SUV's I'd say the Highlander gets the best mileage.

I think I get close to 18, but I have the 6 cyl. Also, keep in mind how you drive can make a difference. Too much stop and go, or all highway. Do you speed more than 5 miles over the limit often, etc

Re: hey not happi wit brakes

one thing to consider between the ody and the highlander is the size of the gas tanks. You only stated that gas seems to get guzzled faster but you never said anything about differences in specific MPG. That means that you probably are only looking at the gas gauge? If that's the case, it can make a difference when youa re judging because if the odyssey has a bigger gas tank. Then it will seem as if gas is consumed slower.

In regards to the brakes, you can always upgrade to powerslots for the rotors and performance friction for the pads. ALso make sure you have a nice set of tires on there too and upgrade to stainless steel brake lines. Your highlander will stop so much quicker.

The stainless steel brake lines will improve brake feel.
