what is the diffrence between the guage in wireing and what is the best kind?

the smaller the gauge the bigger the wire is, like a 4 gauge would be bigger than a 8 gauge. I would recommend a 4 gauge, but it depends upon how much watts you are runnin.

Also your ground should be the same as your speaker wire. Just thought I'd add that too.
