Re: steering shaking b/w 60-80mph
If your tires were balanced recently it's probably one of your front tires. It could be a wheel but it's not as likely. Try changing your wheels and tires around. Put the one's on back on the front and see if that helps. If you just had them balanced and/or rotated (in other words if the people who balanced your tires put them back on at a different location) then that could be why you're getting a shake. If the tires weren't rotated regularly before you got the car, then the wear may be off and this can give you a pull and/or a shake when they are finally rotated.

sounds like tires maybe u lost a weight or they were improperly balanced
loose steering and suspension parts would be very noticeable and at most speeds if the vibration feels like an oscilation its most likely the tires |

Re: steering shaking b/w 60-80mph
I experienced a similar problem and it ended up being the tires. Now let let me calrify. Check the thread wear. Even though it may not be down to the "limit", it appears that the Maxima is more sensitive to the wear. I expereinced this o the original tires as well as with Michelins. I am going to make an estimate that if you are down to approximately 15% thread remaining, replace the tires. You can try rotating the tires around also as mentioned, however, make sure that you have sufficient thread left on the other tires to make the test.

if its only at high speed, then they just need to be balanced.OR check to see if any tires have bubbles.

Re: steering shaking b/w 60-80mph
first of all thanks for the input.
My tires are brand new, but their no big name, something Cobra. someone told me that it could be my transmission, that's what scared me the most. but the car runs just to good other then shaking(which is also not too much) Goodyear did my balancing alighment and rotation. i am gonna try someone else now. thanks all |

Re: steering shaking b/w 60-80mph
i just had my car aligned and all the tires rotated and balanced.. i think it may be the wheel bearing.. it sounds just like the sound of a warped rotor on front brakes but you can't really feel it. around 80 the car also has a small but noticeable vibration. are maximas known for front bearings going out? any ideas on what else this might be.
