Progress - Repsol Honda RC211V '03 Valencia

This is the Repsol Honda RC211V '03 Valencia that Rossi rode in the last race of 2003, the decals were the result of a contest and a guy from Spain won with this.

It's been about 2-3 years since I completed a bike now. So after seeing this one, it was about time to have another go.
These are just a few progress photos (not very good as the WB was off).

I'm still seaching for the Yellow (MS9) and Orange (MS10) Tamiya spray cans

BTW the last pic is a Tamiya website Photo not my finished work .

Those inital pics look great Steve, seems almost a shame to connect those well finished subassemblies sometimes.
Do Tamiya still make the MS series of spraycans? I've not seen them about for a very long time.

Did you have a CF template for the decals ? If so where did you source it from ?

Cheers

MS spray paint is for Mini 4wd and Tamiya still makes them.

The decal on this thing is perfect 100%. How do you call this part of the bike? Mudguard?

Re: Progress - Repsol Honda RC211V '03 Valencia

Great start! Seems to be a very nice build. I really like this bike, the only crappy thing is that Tamiya messed up with the red on the decals... Studio27 ones are actually better even though both are printed by the same company...

Fabulous work so far Steve.

Just wondering what paint you use for the detail work. Do you airbrush everything or brush paint?

If it's a large area or many piece the same colour I airbrush, otherwise
it is brushed on.
All the paintwork apart from the main panels are painted with Tamiya Enamels.

Thanks for the comments so far guys

Those parts have some detail in them. I have not seen you build a motorcylce yet but it should turn out nice considering how good of a car modeler you are.
