I have a 97 Grand Prix SE and my car overheats. I replaced the T-stat with a 180 T-stat and I change the water pump. To this current day, I flush the radiator every sunday and the car over heats two or three days later. I really have no clue of what is wrong with the car. I was thinking that is was the radiator, but I really do not know.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?????????? |

Wow....where to start. First off, it's really difficult to diagnose a problem sight unseen. Please clirify a few things for us.
- How many miles on the engine? - Has routine maintenance been performed? - Has the SES light come on? - After flushing the cooling system what are you refilling it with? - After refilling did you bleed all air from the system? - Leaks? Hoses, gaskets, etc. - Fans operating properly? Alot of people here would be happy to try to help you diagnose the problem but you've gotta provide more info.

Did your coolant look like brown slop when you first drained it? DexCool is like liquid satan.
Your heater core and radiator may be clogged from that crap. You may want to flush the system using a chemical flush rather than just flushing the system with water.......or maybe you've already done this. If you try the chemical flush make sure you follow the directions, otherwise damage could result.Don't refill with DexCool. Go with the normal green anti-freeze. Also, replace your radiator cap. One of the essential elements of an effective cooling system is pressure. If the radiator cap doesn't maintain the appropriate amount of pressure the engine will overheat.
