Re: "DIY" tint

Tinting is an art that takes a while to master. I'd say after tinting 10 or so cars I'm able to do it very well. I always tell people who want to tint on their own for the first time tint the upper windshield, that's as easy as it gets. If you have trouble with that, STOP and let the pro's do it. If you feel capable do the rear window LAST! This way you get some practice on the others, removing tint from a rear window with defrost is a pain.

Re: "DIY" tint

around here, lifetime tint warrenties are about $150 a car. We, here in GA, just had our tint law kicked out. We are now allowed to have ANY percent tint on our cars. No more tint tickets in GA!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

Re: "DIY" tint

If you use plenty of soapy water and have a good squeegy (or credit card wraped in a piece of material) it is pretty easy for the side glasses, as for back, I tried twice on a hatch back ford escort and never could get it, but there rounded alot. Havnt tried on a civic or crx.

around 150 here also, 35 on front windows is darkest legal, back door glass and back glass can be as dark as you want it. I'm having mine done up with the tint like on the lexus's, the whitesh-green tent (its on almost all the new lexuses, hard to describe).

Re: "DIY" tint

150 isn't too bad, i think i'll get darkest legal tint on the front windows (usually rolled down anyway) and then like 0% for the rest of em if it's legal :P

But which is better? The dark dark tint or the mirrow tint? Personally i think i might go with dark tint, because i don't know how well the mirrow tint keeps out the light...but it's a mirrow it should reflect the light back...ok wth am i talking about?

Dark or Mirror?
