Wheel studs
I was at Wal-mart getting my tires that just came in swaped. They made me sign something that said if they broke shit they dont have to pay for it. And of course when I was putting my tires back on from doing my shocks i cross threaded a stud. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH it snaped off. So Is this something that I can do my self?

Re: Wheel studs
yes. i dunno if theres room on a 2g talon but soem cars you dont even have to pull the hub. just knock the stud out the back with a hammer and shove a new one in. then torque on the wheel and it will pull it in good

Re: Wheel studs
you can get them from a auto tune up shop or a dealer. THat is what happened to me but I had one of my friends order them from his shop.

Re: Wheel studs
^^^ thats true... heres what ya gotta do~
with the wheel off take your brake caliper off along with the part that holds the brake pads on... (2 bolts on the back side) then just slide off the rotor and take a hammer and some "free all" or another lubricant and pound it out! |

Re: Wheel studs
The size is M12, should be 1.25 pitch. See how long the stocker is, thats an option too. If you have the thread type and length, any auto parts store should have them. Something like autozone can even look up the size.

Pep boys fuck up
I work at pepboys and this shit happens all the time. Jake is right its rather an easy process 2 caliper bolts 2 caliper bracket bolts remove the rotor and smack it out. Replacing the stud is a lil more difficult. You may want to pick up another lug nut while your at it, just in case it gets to the point where you cant use it. Slide the stud in through the back of the hub assembly, then put about 3 or 4 washers around the stud and tighten the lug nut with a torque wrench or impact untill the stud is flush with the hub. The reason for 2 lugnuts is that the nut tends to tear into the washers causing knife like metal shards to build up around the end of it.
