will engine work?

My boyfriend wants to fix his 91' rx-7. If he buys a remanufactured rx-7 engine imported from japan will it work okay in his car or is there different sensors, connections etc. that would be needed?

Re: will engine work?

J-Rat, i dont wanna flame or anything but your post is so useless given the number of stuff you should have told him he needed before the engine will work.

geniusofpool : the engine wont work without a s5 T2 wirering harness, AFM, knock sensor, s5 T2 Ecu, accelerator cable, etc. you need the complete engine to match everything. make him buy an S5 engine, its less trouble to only swap an n/a to T2 than to do an s5 n/a to s4 T2 swap.

all in all, it should cost him roughly 1500$ for the swap with used parts and a 8-900$ engine

heres a nice writeup from Kabooski, on the Rx7club.com

Gee, I missed the spot where the original poster made it clear it was an N/A to TII conversion.

The only question was, will a J-Spec work.. Yes it will.

Re: will engine work?

honestly I don't use it that often, I've used it like 3 times lately for good reason... but besides that I can't remember the last time I used it... good try though

oh and incase you haven't noticed, thats what people use on these boards... check around and you'll see a lot more than just me

Re: will engine work?

Ok it was a vague question lets get over it guys. It's not a big deal. What I got from the original post was genius wanted to know if a replacement crate engine from japan would work in her boyfriend's ride. In which case the answer would be yes it would.
