Angry Bronco Throttle Stuck - Idles REAL FAST!

My friend's Bronco throttle will not go all the way back to the plunger. It stops about 3/4 inch before. So now when he starts it, it is idling so fast is sounds like he is flooring it. Any ideas? I when manually pulling the throttle/accelerator it feels like there is something that is physically stopping it from decelerating all of the way (does not feel like a loose spring).

Looking for the most budget solution besides attaching a large rubber band to it!

Idle problems

There is a procedure for checking your Throttle Position Sensor. You`ll need a 4-20 milli amp meter.

I had the same problem with my 1994 Bronco, I replaced the sensor and the problem went away. Its easy enough to do your self in about an hour.

If you need details email me.

Re: Throttle stuck

.Throttle stuck on my 94 because of corrosion on linkage.
I had the same problem on my 94 Bronco...boy does that scare you when gets stuck when coming to an intersection. My problem was just corrosion on the linkage on top of the carb/throttle body. Popped off the linkage ball ends and horseshoe clip then worked off linkage by swivelling it back and forth until it came off and cleaned corrosion off rod on carb/throttle body and cleaned corrosion off the inside of linkage and then lubed and replaced and have had zero problems for the last 6 months. Hope this helps
