Beast vs Rex

On my way to work this morning, and as I pull up on Hall Johnson, I look over and see that shiny tri color M badge. Beautiful. I talk to the guy for a little bit, and find out exactly what he has under the hood. Its a nice car, powerful, sexy....sorry, starting to ramble. Anyways, before I can ask him if he wants to meet me and friend at beach street some night and represent the Bavarian side of racing, I hear that anoying little whine of a four cylinder turbo charged motor. I look in my rearview, and see a blue WRX (not STi) pull up. He starts reving, and hard. Guess he saw the ///M badge.

So, light goes green, and I slow down, and let the Rex pass me, and line up with the ///M. Hes still reving hard, and now its just old and annoying. We pull up to the next light, and, by the Grace of God, its red. I know this is gonna be good. Anyways, the Rex revs more, and then the ///M revs it. My God, the sound of a Supersprint full exhaust is beautiful. At this point, I'm thinking the guy in the Rex is wondering what he has gotten himself into.

Light goes green, and wel, theres not much to say except the Beast took the Rex to school. And very very hard. Its beautiful to see things like this. And for those who were wondering, it was the same ///M5 that I saw race the SS.

Re: Beast vs Rex

Barely. The Rex has about a foot on him for half a second, then it was all over.

Re: Beast vs Rex

I would think being able to launch at 5k with out or minimal wheel spin would at least get him a car or two lead until third..........

Re: Beast vs Rex

Just having the ability to launch at 5k doesnt mean he does it well or does it at all...

Re: Beast vs Rex

Even with the full potential of the Rex, it really didn't stand a chance against the M5. If that guy really did have (and I think he did) everything he said he had, then the best launch in the world couldn't save that Rex.

Re: Beast vs Rex

No problem, I enjoy telling race stories, even if I'm not involved. I really enjoy it becasue I live in an area that has enough money so that mommy and daddy can buy the kid a nice car, and then I can watch that car get spanked by somone who knows their stuff.

Neon, look at the 60' times of a good rwd driver vs a good awd driver, not that much different. Someone who had the time and money to put into an M5 like that could easily be a good driver. Good rwd vs average awd = rwd taking it. The rex was just outdriven, not sucking.

Re: Beast vs Rex

either M (sorry ///M....I like how you did that) is on my dream car list. especially the m5.
just for future info: we call the CRX the Rex, not the WRX. we know what you meant, so its cool.

have any pics of your car posted anywhere?
