new SH-AWD: how works transmission to front wheels?
Hi guys!
The NEW Legend has got this new awesome Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system which actively distributes torque not only between front and rear axle but also seperately to the left and right rear wheels. But i wonder how the transmission to the front wheels work, everywhere these Pictures of the rear tranmission unit, but none of the front. Is there a center differential at all, and what type of front differential do they use? Does anyone know any details? |

Re: new SH-AWD: how works transmission to front wheels?
much like the ATTS on the prelude SH works. honda just adapted a similar system for the rear wheels as well. i dont' know all the details of this new SH-AWD system. hoepfully it'll live up to all the hype it's getting. i would assume it's setup just like most other current AWD system, jus with the ATTS-like technology.

Nope, there's no Legend for sale at the moment by Honda or Acura.

Sorry Janet, you're wrong.
http://www.japmobiles.com/news/news_detail.asp?id=156 http://www.auto-report.net/index.html?sh-awd.html ok, and from the looks of it franzm, the front and rear differential's are the same unit. the front T's off and the rear goes to the back. much like the unit's in newer suburu's. holy crap, it uses an electromagnetic clutch!
