My Lumina APV, 1993, 3.8 motor, cruise control suddenly doesn't work. Can any expert throw in some ideas how to fix it (DIY)?

The cruise control system is vacuum operated. The first thing to check would be the vaccum lines. Check ALL of them, even the ones that dont have anything to do with the cruise. Make sure none are broken, cracked, or dry rotted. If this doesnt fix it the next thing to do would be check the linkage. Make sure it hasnt slipped off of the throttle lever. It shouldnt, but if the retaining clip has broken or just decided to pop off, it may have slipped off.
