Question 735i--High Fuel Consumption--HELP!!!

I have a 1990 735i that was just purschased recently. This car consumes fuel like water. Any idea on what to do to get this problem resolved? The car came from Germany...and currently it's in Africa. Pls help....!!!!

there are a number of possible causes, but even though it's in Africa, i'd need more SYMPTOMS to be
efficient help to you...................................jb.

Well..I can tell you that the car is not smoking. I have changed the oil and oil filter, replaced all the spark plugs, etc...
Now, I have no idea on what else that may be causing this high fuel consumption.
What other SYMPTOMS do you want to know? Pls. advise.

how's it start, cold & hot, how's it idle, how's it run
[smoothly, seem rough, any odors, etc...] The MORE you can tell me the better WE might narrow it down. I HATE seeing people throwing parts and MONEY at a problem like this. Please take a few moments to carefully 'study' any symptoms you can find. I'll be here.........................................jeffb
