Getting prepared to get to work!

Hey guys, i have this big project i want to do.

I have a 90 HB Civic and im planing on doing the prep work to get it painted, i also want to paint the interior myself...

Here are my question:

What do i need to prep the car? The car does have a little rush around, not much, but it has some. While prep'in the car, can i still run it or will i just mess up wha ive done? What do i need to do all this (type of sanding paper, product to fix the rust, etc...)

For the interior: what type of paint do i need? Car i spray can it or will it just be ugly?

Thanks for the tips and ideas!
